(OK, this information is dated, but still applies.  So, we'll leave it here just to remind you that contributions to FOS can still be made at any time of the year.  And when FOS 2012 kicks off, we'll update this paragraph!  There.)

Friends of Scouting Community Campaign

Unit Service
Journey to Excellence
Journey to Excellence is the new Quality Unit for 2011.  Check out the details for your Unit by following the link on the Council website home page.

Service
Your Unit Commissioners are here to help you.  Invite them to your meetings.  Communicate with them.  Let them know how they can serve you.  (Because they like you!)

Recognition
Always remember to recognize your Scouts, Unit Leaders, and Volunteers.  A teaspoon of sugar can go a long way!

Training
Pine Island have a full slate of Adult Leader training for Fall 2011.  Check the calendar to the right.  As we offer outstanding training programs, this is an opportunity to further increase your knowledge For Scouting to you and to the Scouts you serve.

Also, make sure to go to www.myscouting.org and create an account to further your Scouting knowledge through all available on-line training.  Remember, you might be heading in the right direction, but if you're not moving you are blocking the road!

Unit Rechartering
Congratulations Pine Island District - we are rechartered!  (As always.)

Rechartering packets will be available at November Roundtable.  Be sure to review the pamphlet "Council Accident & Sickness Plan" (included with your rechartering packet), to fully understand your insurance coverage.

Reminder
Every youth that is attending meetings MUST be registered.  If not, they are not covered under the insurance policy and this puts YOU at risk.  They also will not be able to advance if they are not registered as a member.  Review your Unit Roster and make sure every Scout is currently registered.

Spring Recruiting
More information next Spring 2012!

Program
Be sure to stay informed about all of the activities and events that are available for your Unit.  The best way to know what's going on is to attend Roundtable every month.  Units that do are the most involved, active, thriving Units in the District.

Links with information about upcoming events can now be found on the Program Page of the SFC website.  Just click on the Program link in the navigation panel on the top of any page.

See you at Roundtable!
