I am pleased to report that Fireball has exceeded last year's Membership benchmark, and we still have several weeks to go before the end of the year.  Unit leaders you can help by turning in your Membership applications on a timely basis, and also please call me with any recruiting plans you have as you need materials, etc...>> call Keith Jones to coordinate: 786-897-0419.

New to Fireball >> we have changed our meeting location for Roundtable to the following address:

LDS Church

8201 NW 186th St

Miami Lakes, FL, 33015

Our new emphasis for Roundtable will be to educate attendees, as well as, inform about upcoming events including adult training such as Baloo, youth training such as Den Chief Training, and Camporee coordination.  The goal is to provide knowledge and information in a lively and fun format, so that everyone can leave better prepared to promote Scouting in our District and in the South Florida Council.

 Finances and Fundraising Minimize

Fireball's fundraising efforts through the Friends of Scouting (FOS) Program are currently underway for 2009!!

There is a critical need this year for additional funds so that we can maintain the same level of Scouting Programs everyone has enjoyed in recent years.  2009 will be a challenging year, but there is something we all can do!  I urge everyone to make their pledge for 2009, and when doing so, consider all the events this year your son has been able to participate in:

Lincoln Marti Camporee, Scoutmasters Camporee, Fireball District Pinewood Derby, Fireball Cuboree, Fireball Camporee, Cub Scout Day Camp, Fireball Den Chief Training, Fireball Webelos Jamboree in the Woods Camporee, The Haunted Forest, and many more to come.  Since all these events require funds to make them successful, we are asking for Family and Business donations (size appropriate for your ability to give) to help continue the program.

Also remember, many companies have matching gift programs and/or foundations that would be glad to help Scouting!

Thank you,  Joe Mizzell, District Executive for the Fireball District, Boy Scouts of America
