All units are needed to help in the Membership efforts for the Fall Recruitment Campaign this year, as we are going back to a single night for recruiting! This years Join Scouting Night is Thursday, September 15th. Unit leaders you can help by signing up your unit to help at one of the Fireball District's schools that night! Please contact Membership Chair Darlyn Espinosa or District Executive Annette Hungler.

Under the wonderful leadership of Roy Harding, District Commissioner and Bev Lam, Roundtable Commissioner, we will be continuing our great Roundtable's at the LDS Church on Miami Gardens Drive. The address is:

LDS Church

8201 NW 186th St

Miami Lakes, FL, 33015

Our emphasis for Roundtable will be to educate attendees, as well as, inform about upcoming events including adult training such as Baloo, youth training such as Den Chief Training, and Camporee coordination. The goal is to provide knowledge and information in a lively and fun format, so that everyone can leave better prepared to promote Scouting in our District and in the South Florida Council.

Fireball News

Thank you to all of the donor's and units that have generously given to the Fireball Friends of Scouting effort this year. Thanks to you, Fireball was able to reach their goal for the district for the first time in several years. We want to give special recognition to three units that had both100% participation of all parents donating and also reaching their unit's Friends of Scouting Goal.

Pack 425, Cubmaster Cheryl Jarrell, Grace Lutheran Church, Charter Organization

Pack 591, Cubmaster Armando Espinosa, Lily of the Valley Church, Charter Organization

Troop 49, Scoutmaster Fred Amankwah, Kiwanis of Miami Lakes, Charter Organization

There is a critical need for everyone to do their part so that we can maintain the same level of Scouting Programs everyone has enjoyed in recent years. 2011 will be a challenging year, but there is something we all can do! I urge everyone to make their pledge for 2011, and when doing so, consider all the events this year your son has been able to participate in:

Lincoln Marti Camporee, Scoutmasters Camporee, Fireball Cuboree, Fireball Camporee, Cub Scout Day Camp, Fireball Den Chief Training, Fireball Webelos Jamboree in the Woods Camporee, The Haunted Forest, and many more to come. Since all these events require funds to make them successful, we are asking for Family and Business donations (size appropriate for your ability to give) to help continue the program.

Also remember, many companies have matching gift programs and/or foundations that would be glad to help Scouting! Please contact me directly for more information!
